Sunday Bowling

Lovely brunch at Terrapin Crossroads - bright and loungy, and there was even live music.  Ironically my pregnant belly qualified me for a free Mother's Day mimosa, which I was able to pawn off on Jenny.  Following brunch we played a few cutthroat (not really) games at Country Club Bowl.  I may have looked awkward, but I still snagged the high score on our last game!  (As Tom can attest, I was insufferably smug for the rest of the day.)

kitten-belly-family-time

Trying to spend as much time as possible coddling the kittens before the trauma of moving apartments in June.  If there's anyone more set in his ways than I am, it is surely Snape, so I'm definitely a little concerned about the transition.  Both cats have been the picture of cozy neediness this last week since we got back from our trip.  They tend to completely ignore my lack of lap space and insist on draping themselves over/under/around the belly in any awkward way possible.

Vancouver Island, BC

We stayed at the Prancing Horse, about 20 minutes north of Victoria.  Our suite even came with a resident cat, which made us feel right at home.  Lots of mini hikes between rainstorms, fish and chips, and bird-watching.

28 weeks.

Tom was determined to see a bald eagle on this trip.  He had nothing to worry about as we saw several of them fly right by our window in both Port Angeles and Vancouver Island.  Here's one we spotted on a beach hike.
