Downtown Details

Lunch hour photo walkabout with Joe and Carla took us through the Galleria, up Kearney and into Chinatown.  We spotted even more interesting goings on today than during walkabout #1!  Cats on trucks, farmer's market, sidewalk sprinters... what more could a few photo enthusiasts ask for?   Check out Carla's take on the outing here.

Seal Friends

Me: "Aww, they're best friends. They're having so much fun!"
Tom: "Or, they're fighting to the death."

I'll let you be the judge. :)

Lunch Hour Photo Walkabout

I discovered a fellow photography enthusiast in my workplace pod recently, so we decided to break up the workday with a photo stroll through SOMA.  While I still feel more at ease photographing birds than humans, I definitely felt the draw of street photography.

Wilmington Urban Wildlife Refuge

Most of my trips are a flurry of trying to pack in as many adventures as possible; in contrast, trips to visit my in-laws in Delaware tend to be very relaxing.  It's been fun for me to slowly explore Delaware over the last several years, knowing that I'll be back again soon and that there will always be more time to traipse around and discover Delaware's hidden gems.  This visit, we made it to the Russell W. Peterson Wildlife Refuge which is conveniently right on the Wilmington Riverwalk.

Another place on my list to see is Chincoteague (not quite Delaware, but really close!)  Delawarians, do you have any other suggestions for me?

Minerva in Motion

Mini is a hunter.  There's nothing she likes more than to be in pursuit, whether its flying through the air towards a red feather or skittering across the floor to chomp down on her favorite rawhide baseball.  I have lost count of how many bouncy wand things we've gone through in the past year, but if I had to guess it would be somewhere around 20.  She is exuberant, self-assured, and surprisingly athletic for how short she is.  She has the body type of a dachshund, but look how much air she can get!  In short, she is amazing.

Happy 1st birthday, Mini!
