Back at the reliable Edgewood Preserve. Our last time there we followed the reliable BAHiker route, but this time we wanted something closer to 3 miles, so we picked up a trail map in the parking lot and picked our own route. The park is as beautiful in spring as it is in fall, and we even came across a family of deer lunching in the meadow.

Somewhere in the Marin Headlands
This weekend we set out to do a 4 miler to a beach and back. We ended up on a beautiful trail that we shared with horses, bikers, and even a few deer! But, after a few uphill miles moving inland we realized we might not be making it to that beach. There's always next weekend!
17 weeks!

Pescadero Marsh Natural Preserve
We were able to pass under the highway from the beach to the marsh. Even though our initial inspiration was this 1.4 mile hike, it quickly became apparent that the locale called for uninformed traipsing rather than following a strict course. Marshes tend to be my favorite because of all the birds and critters hiding nearby (this one was more wild than Coyote Hills, but more accessible than Grizzly Island which made for a nice middle ground). We even spotted a doe and fawn in the tall grass.

Valley View Loop, San Pedro Valley Park
Yet another winning hike from bahiker.com! We've been feeling a little lazy lately so opted for a 2-miler. The deer were so tame here and at one point they walked right up to us.
